Koinonia (κοινονια) – fellowship, sharing, participation in, common vision, fellow participant, partnership, and impartation
A. A Common Sharing _________ (v. 42, 44).
1. A Common Sharing in _________ ________ (v.41)
Ephesians 2:8,9 - For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast.
2. A Common Sharing in _______ _________ (v.38, 39)
I John 1:3 – Our fellowship is with the Father and with his Son Jesus Christ.
2 Corinthians 13:14 – The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ and the love of God and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all.
3. A Common Sharing in _____ ______ ______ (v.44)
* were together * had all things in common
* worship * prayers
B. A Common Sharing __________ (v. 45)
Their possessions were not their god. They freely shared as there was need.
John Stott: The prohibition on private property is a Marxist not a Christian doctrine.
Koinonikos – generous
2 Corinthians 8:2 – their abundance of joy and their extreme poverty have overflowed in a wealth of generosity on their part.
I John 3:17 – If anyone has the world’s goods and see his brother in need, yet closes his heart against him, how does God’s love abide with him?
Koinitus - excessive, inward fellowship (Peter Wagner). It is all about “us” and not about Jesus and his mission to the world!
Fellowship is the sharing in worship and sharing out in witness and ministry in the world.
